Often a block will lose a good tree to fit the home. Not this one. On a rear strata block in Maylands, the 12-metre Jacaranda became the defining feature, with the home designed to suit. Downstairs, big windows and high ceilings keep the tree in view from almost every room. A seamless connection between the kitchen, living, dining and alfresco creates a home that feels open, light and immersed in nature. Inspired by the landscape outside, the kitchen features warm green cabinetry and a handmade-look tiled splashback.

Upstairs, the master bedroom doubles as a quiet retreat, complemented by an ensuite where terrazzo feature tiles nod to Maylands’ architectural past. Next to this, a private sitting area to soak up canopy views.

The result is a home that feels deeply connected to its surroundings, giving the family a place they’re proud to call their own. “The finished home is something we’re genuinely proud of and has been a game-changer for our family.”
